For maths today we are exploring 8. We are introducing a 10 frame. Last term we were using a 5 frame so children should be familiar with this. I have attached a copy of a 10 frame if you would like to print it out and ask children to explore putting 8 things into it …coins, counters, sweets, pasta, anything that fits into the squares. If you can’t print it you may be able to draw one, but don’t worry if not. Whatever order you put the objects into the boxes, children should know there are still 8 – you haven’t added any or taken any away so the total stays the same.
