In this lesson, children will continue to use their understanding of division to divide 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers using partitioning. They will use known multiplication facts to predict remainders when dividing. Some children may not use their understanding of multiplication tables to predict when there will be a remainder. To support ask: How can you tell when a number can be divided by 2? 5? 10? Children may leave a remainder that is larger than the divisor. To support ask: Can you make another group from the remainder?
