Hello everyone!

 

Task:                                                                                                                                                                                                            

Today we will be comparing multiplication and division statements. In this lesson, children will use the greater than and less than signs to compare multiplication and division statements with larger numbers. They will use their understanding of known multiplication facts to make comparisons without finding answers to the actual calculations.  Children may not realise that they do not always need to work out an answer to compare multiplication and division statements. Ask: How can you tell 5 × 20 is greater than 4 × 20?
