Task:
In this lesson, children will solve 1- and 2-step problems based on information that is presented in pictograms. When comparing and using data across more than one pictogram, some children may assume the key is the same. To help address this, draw attention to the key on each pictogram and ask: Where do you look on a pictogram to find out what each symbol is worth? Are the symbols worth the same on both pictograms?
