Task:
In this lesson, children will continue to use their understanding of place value and division to divide 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers using partitioning, while using exchange to simplify calculations. Children may not realise a number can be partitioned in different ways. When dividing using partitioning it is useful to use multiples so that the division can be completed using known multiplication facts. To support- ask: What would be a good way to partition so both parts can be divided?
